B.K. Joshi One of the prime objectives of SFIT is placing students in the best of industries and trained them to meet industry requirements. Efforts are taken for past 8 years in this direction to train the students throughout the year by various educational institutes, corporate training programmes and our staff members. Mock interviews and G.D.s are also conducted. This year our institute is accredited by Capgemini. Every year students are trained for aptitude test, group discussions, technical & personal interviews before campus season starts. T.P.O. conducts pre placement talks for all classes briefing the students on campus placements, companies visiting our campus, career guidance and many related things. He also conducts personal interviews of all students giving them the overview of corporate culture. Senior industry people are invited to deliver technical seminars to give update on late test technologies for the students. Faculty development programmes are also organised in collaboration with industry. Faculty are sponsored for training programmes at industry premises to understand upcoming technologies and are trained for soft skills development of the students. Indian IT industries today have just come out of global recession and have shown some improvement in the financial results. The adverse effect of slowdown in U.S. economy is still continuing and outsourcing policies are coming up back and forth. The eminent economists say that it will take 2 years to improve and will be of “W” shape. However Indian companies are focusing on domestic markets and P.S.U.s to get new business. Of course there are some good signs of fresher’s recruitment.
