The SFIT student chapter aims at bringing professional awareness and competence among its students to gain knowledge about the latest technologies used in IT industries.

1. Computer Society of India (C.S.I.) Wing: formed in 2004

Activities:

• Workshop on OpenGL and 3D graphics by Mr. Abhijit Maharana
• Seminar on Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) by Mr.H.R. Shenoi (L & T)
• Java by Mr. Jinesh Vazir
• In the planning are the following events: Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex ,DOT NET
• In 2008-09, the SFIT chapter had an excellent turn out in registrations making it to 92 registrations and hence have been converted to a CSI chapter. CSI SFIT is  now 63rd CSI Chapter in the country
• Industrial Visit to Tarapur Atomic Power Station (T.A.P.S.). It was a great and knowledgeable experience and was well appreciated.

2. Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering(I.E.T.E): formed in 2003-04
Activities:

• A lecture on Digital Image Processing by Prof. P.K. Menon (IIT)
• Animated film on Internet Technology was shown to the students.
• Seminar on ‘current development in optical fibres by Mr. R.K. Bahuguna, Regional G.M. of Western railways

The IETE SFIT student chapter is organizing a IIT-B initiated self workshop and spoken tutorial on LINUX, PHP, PYTHON, LATEX and SCILAB software which is scheduled to begin from 15th of February 2012, the software being essential from student’s  point of view to create a software base taking placements into consideration. Online tests will be conducted following the spoken tutorials and certificates will thereby be awarded by IIT-Bombay. The software workshop is open for students from all streams and years.
