ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSIONS :

The candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune or its equivalent examination with and in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured not less than 50% marks (150 out of 300) in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together at the same sitting (45 percent marks i.e. 135 out of 300 in the subjects for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together at the same sitting for Backward Class candidates only from Maharashtra State).

OR

The candidate should have passed the Indian School Certificate (Std. XII) examination or any other equivalent Higher Secondary (Std. XII) Examination, of a Council or Board outside Maharashtra State with and in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured not less than 50% marks (150 out of 300) in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together at the same sitting (45 percent marks i.e. 135 out of 300 in the subjects for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together at the same sitting for Backward Class candidates only from Maharashtra State).

 

FEES :

The fees (viz. tution fees, caution money, student activity fee etc.) are prescribed by the State Govt. for Merit & Payment categories. The Fee structure as revised by the Government of Maharashtra for Merit, Payment and NRI seats is as under:

Note:- The Fees for NRI candidates are to be paid in American Dollars.

ATTENDANCE :

Every student must complete to the satisfication of the Principal the courses of study at the College prescribed for such term for the class to which the student belongs . The student must keep a minimum attendance of three-fourths of the number of days on which lectures, practicals, etc are held in each term.

There will be an examination at the end of each semester. The Examinations at the end of Semesters II, VII and VIII will be held by the University. The examination at the end of Semesters I, III, IV, V and VI will be held by the college on behalf of the University according to the University rules.

DISCIPLINE :

The SFIT management along with the parental involvement is committed to a healthy discipline and high standard of the college and the students are required to co-operate to maintain the same.

MERIT AND PAYMENT SEATS :

The intake of each of the three disciplines in SFIT is 60 seats making of total 180 seats. Fifty percent of these seats are " Merit Seats " and the remaining are "Payment Seats" in each discipline. From the academic year 2000-2001 30% of the seats in both Merit and Payment have been reserved for ladies students as per the decision of the Government of Maharashtra No. GEC-1000 / (123/2000)/TE-1 dated 17th April, 2000.

SEATS FOR NRI :

Nine seats in each of the three disciplines in SFIT are allocated for children of Non Resident Indians (NRI). These are from "Payment Seat" category. The candidates who are eliglible as per the stipulated Rules for First year Degree in Engineering & Technology - Admissions - 2000-2001 of the State Govt. and desirous of seeking admission against these seats shall apply directly to the :

in the prescribed application form on or before the last date notified by Admission Authority of State Govt.

NRI candidates should submit the following additional certificates along with the application form :

( i ) Certificate of passing qualifying or equivalent examination.

( ii ) The eligibility certificate from respective University.

( iii ) Certificate issued by Indian Diplomatic Mission or Chancellery or Commission abroad under their seal stating that the father / parent of the applicant is an Indian, residing in that country.
