A) How to reach Mumbai

Mumbai can be reached by road, rail or air. As Mumbai is the financial capital of India it is well connected with all major cities of the world. Mumbai has an extensive public transport system (trains and buses) with plenty of private options such as cabs and auto-rickshaws as well.

AIR: International travellers will disembark at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Domestic travellers will deplane at Santa Cruz Domestic Airport which is a short distance from the international airport. One can book a prepaid taxi/cab at these airports and arrive at the venue. Paying tip is not mandatory or customary. However if the driver helps in moving your luggage, tipping is encouraged. RAIL: Interstate and intercity trains/shuttles connect Mumbai to all neighbouring  and other major cities of India. Your destination station will vary depending on where you embark on your journey. The conference venue is to the east of Andheri station, which is a suburb in the north of Mumbai between Jogeshwari and Vileparle stations, on the western railway line.

B) Tips for overseas travellers

Important! If you are not a resident of India, you may be required to obtain a Visitor's Permit. Certain nationals need to have their passport endorsed with a visitor's VISA prior to immigration security check. The Indian currency is Paise (P) and Rupees (Rs), with 100P equal to 1 Rp. Coins are in the denominations of 50P, Rp. 1, Rs. 2, Rs. 5, and Rs.10. There are Rs. 5, Rs. 10, Rs. 20, Rs. 50, Rs. 100, Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes available. As of 26th June 2013, 1 US$ = Rs. 59.66. Please confirm current conversion rates around the time of your arrival.

There are automatic teller machines in the airport and throughout most cities, should you wish to withdraw cash on your credit or debit cards.
