The management of St. Francis Institute of Technology has a clear vision for all round development of the institute so that it can become one of the finest engineering institutes in western region of the country. Keeping this vision in mind, a team of staff members lead by the Principal started an R&D cell or centre of innovation way back in 2005 to nurture the young minds of both our faculty and students. At the outset, an R&D magazine “Sanshodhan” – a mouthpiece of  the R&D activity was started. Some ISTE sponsored programs for the faculty were conducted under this banner with a roaring success.

From that time on, there was no looking back. Dr. T S Rathore, a retired eminent professor from IIT-B was appointed as the Dean R&D to provide us direction. Under his able guidance , the R&D cell has conducted a national level conference, several ISTE and university approved short term training programs, seminars and workshops. A number of activities are conducted on a regular basis, viz. R&D lecture series, development of laboratory manuals and release of the biannual technical magazine - Sanshodhan in a new shape.
